No. The smartCharge has not been designed for use with the iPhone. While it might be used for charging, it won’t provide a Line Out signal through its built-in 1/8" (3.5 mm) jack.

2. Is the smartCharge compatible with the iPad?

No. The iPad requires 2.1A USB power, which is up to 4x more than an iPod or iPhone. The smartCharge provides 500 mA max.
